Neil Scilley, CPA, CA
Neil is a veteran CPA with extensive experience in a variety of areas of public accounting, team management and leadership. Neil manages a portfolio of assurance and non-assurance corporate clients and a team of professional staff. An excellent communicator and a strong public speaker, Neil has built trusted relationships with his clients. His ability to learn quickly and adapt to any situation have proven essential to excel in a field of ever-evolving standards and resources. With his leadership abilities and strong knowledge of accounting, Neil is an indispensable asset to our team.
Graham Wheatley, CPA, CGA
Graham obtained his Certified General Accountant designation in 1981, and has enjoyed a diverse professional career in public accounting for 20 years. As part of a national accounting firm for 10 years, Graham worked closely with owner-managed businesses, providing financial and business solutions to their management teams. As a CFO for a large computer software company and computer training company, he gained both domestic and international experience. Graham has also assisted in the development of a program to help independent contractors work through the maze of incorporation, supporting them in setting up their businesses and establishing banking relationships, and providing guidance in tracking and claiming appropriate business expenses. For many years Graham has volunteered for Junior Achievement and sports coaching, and is currently an accounting resource for Invest Ottawa. He also delivers presentations on taxation and business issues to financial planners in the Advocis group. He is an active canvasser for the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
(Ms.) Neha Agarwal
Since joining our firm in 2010 out of a co-op placement, Neha has grown to become an invaluable resource both internally to our staff and externally to our clients. She is our go-to person and subject matter expert for all taxation matters, including personal, corporate, estates and trusts, taxes at death, and cross-border taxation and related issues. In 2018, she earned a well-deserved role as Supervisor and now helps lead our taxation practice to new heights. Neha can always be counted to be thorough, detailed, and practical in her advice and she has built trusted relationships with our clients.
Donald Armstrong, Supervisor of the Financial Reporting Services group, is our ‘go-to person’ for technical accounting and specialized client service. Having joined Logan Katz in 2009, Donald has been providing exceptional accounting and tax services to a variety of small- & medium-sized businesses from professional service firms, to corporations in construction, IT, real estate and hospitality. As online accounting platforms and new technologies are becoming increasingly necessary for new business owners, Don has maintained a high level of expertise in these areas. He provides training in accounting software and principles to a variety of Logan Katz’ clients, and he speaks regularly to new business owners at Invest Ottawa and to Business Administration students at Algonquin College. Additionally, he is well-versed in personal tax preparation and advisory services. Don is our gem.
Marie-Soleil Lee, CPA, CA
Marie-Soleil began her career in public accounting with Logan Katz in 2013 after being selected from the University of Ottawa’s Telfer School of Management Co-op Program. In 2015, after two successful co-op terms, Marie joined our firm on a full-time basis and obtained exposure to a wide variety of disciplines. She developed a keen interest and growing expertise in advanced corporate taxation. She is now an invaluable part of our corporate taxation and reorganization group, and can be relied on to provide thorough, well-researched, and impactful tax planning advice to our clients. In her supervisory role, Marie has also become a key resource and mentor for our junior staff. She often acts as the face of Logan Katz at key social and professional events where she also subtly draws talent to the organization as part of her role on the recruiting team.
Kyle Royer, CPA, CA
Kyle began his career in public accounting with Logan Katz in 2013 as a co-op student through Carleton University’s Sprott School of Business Program. Kyle has acquired extensive experience in several multi-disciplinary areas of public accounting, including personal and corporate taxation, owner-manager remuneration and tax planning, as well as assurance (review and audit) engagements. Subsequent to his co-op placement, Kyle joined our firm on a full-time basis in May 2015, working his way towards ultimately obtaining his CPA designation in January 2018.
Kyle takes a lead role in supervising assurance engagements, managing working relationship with clients, and mentoring junior staff all while managing multiple deliverables. Kyle is an active brand ambassador, representing the firm at numerous networking and charitable events, being the lead in the co-op recruiting for Logan Katz as well as delivering presentations on topics including, bookkeeping, corporate taxation, and personal taxation. When not engaging with clients or representing the firm externally, Kyle has a tremendous passion for community activities and being a leader in internal firm activities, including organizing HOPE volleyball and running the inaugural Logan Katz softball team.
Wilson Li, CPA, CA
Wilson began his career in public accounting with Logan Katz in 2013 as a co-op student through the University of Ottawa’s Telfer School of Management Co-op Program. His dynamic personality and keen work ethic quickly allowed him to develop strong relationships with our Partners and Staff, as well as our clients. Wilson returned for a second co-op work term, subsequently became a highly-valued full-time employee in 2015, and has worked diligently at developing his skills and expertise across a wide range of areas including personal and corporate tax, interim controllership functions, business advisory and assurance services. Wilson is an active ambassador for Logan Katz through presentations at Invest Ottawa, attendance at various charity and community events, and coordination of and participation in various student recruiting activities with the University of Ottawa.
Wendy is proud to be one of the firm’s longest-serving employees, having joined Logan Katz as Staff Accountant in 1999 and subsequently becoming Supervisor in 2012. Over the years, Wendy has developed a vast wealth of knowledge in the areas of corporate and personal tax and business advisory services, and is a trusted and extremely valued resource for the clients she serves. Wendy also shares this knowledge and experience internally with our students and junior staff through comprehensive training and mentoring programs.
Kim Oldham Bourgeois
Kim brings 10 years of administration management experience to Logan Katz. She brings an extensive portfolio of experience in leadership, marketing, client service, program management and personnel recruitment and retention.
A motivated and experienced professional, she is accomplished in building strong employee teams and building a strong organizational culture which encourages creativity, innovation, and teamwork. Kim’s effortless communication style is collaborative and solutions-based. Client service is at the heart of everything she does. Our maestro of operations, she helps to ensure a healthy, happy, productive, and well-functioning workplace for all.

Josianne Legault-Désormeaux, CPA, CA
Josianne began her public accounting career in Québec in 2007, and subsequently obtained her Chartered Professional Accountant designation in 2012. After moving to Ottawa and joining Logan Katz in 2015, Josianne quickly became a trusted and valued member of the Executive Team, providing first-rate, fully bilingual, assurance and accounting services to our clientele. Her experience is diverse, across a variety of industries including not-for-profit, charity and retail. She is a primary point of contact with her clients and ensures their accounting and assurance needs are met with the highest level of quality, efficiency and professionalism, along with a warm and friendly smile.
Brenda Valente, CPA, CA
Having achieved her Chartered Professional Accountant designation in 2001, Brenda joined Logan Katz in 2005. She possesses top-quality experience in assurance, business advisory services, pension plans, corporate and personal taxation, and all other key areas of public accounting. Brenda’s focused and perceptive approach has proven to be an invaluable resource, particularly for our not-for-profit, owner/manager and individual clients.
Jason Valente, CPA, CA, TEP
Having been in public accounting since 1997, Jason is a Chartered Professional Accountant with a wealth of hands-on experience with respect to taxation and accounting services to small and medium-sized entities across many industries. Since joining Logan Katz in 2002, he has provided our corporate and individual clients with uncompromising guidance and advisory services related to their tax-planning needs. Jason has completed the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants in-depth tax program and continues to build on his knowledge base by attending courses. With extensive and up-to-date expertise, he is well equipped to guide clients on the processes and rationales for opportunities including corporate reorganizations, use of trusts, estate planning, sale and purchase of businesses and claims for Scientific Research and Experimental Development Investment Tax Credits.
Denis Chainé, CPA, CA
Denis’ introduction to Logan Katz was a job interview with partners Dave Logan and Gary Katz. That was in 1994 and the confidence they each immediately felt in one another’s professional abilities and capacity to work well together continues to grow every day. It just works. And so does Denis, as any colleague and client will attest. He is an exceptionally hard-working person – traits that combine positively with his intelligence, perceptiveness and affinity for clients and the many reasons they choose to engage Logan Katz. He continuously seeks opportunities to determine just how the firm can be more and bring more to clients. Denis appreciates that clients entrust him to manage important aspects of their lives. He is a professional who cares about people and, whenever possible, brings added benefit to those he serves. Anjali Dilawri, CPA, CA
Anjali began her career in public accounting in 1990 and obtained her Chartered Professional
Accountant designation in 1993. After four years with an international accounting firm, she moved
into industry, working with a large high-tech firm in a variety of finance roles throughout her tenure,
including financial results and planning, total quality management, and systems implementation.
Anjali joined the Logan Katz team in 2004 and has since worked in a span of areas, such as
assurance, business advisory services, corporate and personal taxation, financial reporting
services, litigation support and technical writing. With a clientele comprising several diverse
industries – including not-for-profit, sector councils, high tech and hospitality – she has acquired
generally, and specifically relevant insights and knowledge.
In January 2017, Anjali was welcomed as the firm’s first female Partner. Anjali specializes in servicing our firm’s highly valued not-for-profit clientele. Anjali currently serves as Treasurer of the Women’s Business Network. Among colleagues and clients, she is respected for her dedication to her work and appreciated for her rare ability to combine professionalism with warmth, a smile and, often, a good laugh.
Gary Katz, FCPA, FCA, TEP
You rightly expect sound advice and expertise from your business advisor. With over 35 years of
professional experience, Gary always focuses on the needs and priorities of the people who turn to

Through extensive involvement with owner/manager businesses of varying sizes and complexities,
Gary has gained invaluable insight into challenges related to a range of activities, including
corporate taxation, Canadian and US personal taxation, trust, estate and succession planning, and
owner/manager advisory services.
Gary has developed specialized know-how in the areas of corporate tax planning for businesses
based in or with facilities in the United States. Having also administered his personal real estate
portfolio for several years, he is happy to answer questions you might have about real estate
Gary has maintained a client base of trust and estate clients and provides trust and estate tax and
advisory services as follows:
- Developing tax-saving strategies for estates
- Analyzing estate planning documents including wills and trust agreements to determine the
appropriate treatment of assets and liabilities for tax purposes
- Reviewing estate income tax returns and terminal individual tax returns
His achievements include the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario’s Fellow of the Institute, granting him the FCPA, FCA designation. Gary is past-president of the North American division of AGN International, a worldwide association of independent accounting and consulting firms. He is active in the Ottawa community, is a regular
presenter at Invest Ottawa and is also currently chair of the board of directors of the Glebe Centre
for Long-Term Care.
Trevor Kennedy, CPA, CA
Trevor began his career in public accounting in 2007 and obtained his Chartered Professional Accountant designation in 2010. Trevor has acquired experience in all areas of public accounting – among them, assurance, business advisory services, corporate and personal taxation, and processing claims for Scientific Research and
Development Investment Tax Credits. The many and varied industries he has been exposed to in
the course of his work includes high tech, not-for-profit, sector councils, hospitality and construction. Trevor consistently provides professional and courteous service to his client base.
From 2011 to 2016, Trevor taught various accounting courses at Algonquin College and Carleton University.
– Trevor is actively involved in Startup Garage with the University of Ottawa and Lead to Win with Carleton University – programs which support youth entrepreneurship in the Ottawa area. He also presents various instructive courses to business groups and individuals at Invest Ottawa. Trevor joined the partnership in 2018.
David S. Logan, FCPA, FCA

A Chartered Accountant since 1983 and a founding partner of Logan Katz, David has enabled our
clients and community to reach goals and soar. With expertise in key areas of the accounting
profession, he provides clients with services and business guidance they need and know they can
rely on. David focuses on technology based startup companies ensuring that we constantly build
our capacity to be as much as part of the technology industry as an accounting firm can be.
To ensure Ottawa is an excellent place to start and grow businesses, David plays a major volunteer
role in Carleton University’s Lead to Win program and the University of Ottawa’s Startup Garage.
He also speaks frequently to groups and supports other learning activities of Invest Ottawa.
Since 1989, David has been actively involved with the Institute of Chartered Professional
Accountants, including nine years as a member of the Institute’s Professional Conduct Committee
and three years on the Practice Inspection Committee. His achievements include the Chartered
Professional Accountants of Ontario’s Fellow of the Institute, granting him the FCPA, FCA
designation, and the Trudeau Medal from the University of Ottawa’s Telfer School of Management.
Outside the office, David is happy spending time with his wife and their family. He is an avid cyclist
who enjoys long treks on the weekends in Gatineau Park and along the rural roads that frame our
Shawn Roussy, CPA, CA
Shawn has 17 years of progressively senior experience in a ‘big four’ accounting firm. Since joining
Logan Katz in March 2012, he has successfully established and leads our
cross-border tax planning and compliance services team. The team is a welcome addition for
clients who have financial interests in Canada and the US.
Related to his expertise in this area, Shawn is well versed in the content of trade treaties with the US and other countries, the outcome of extensive research supporting clients. As Shawn makes his mark expanding the scope of our
services, he is also building a practice to fully support the requirements of business owners and managers – a significant expansion to his own professional capacity.
Bright, outgoing and good-natured, Shawn creates strong and lasting ties with everyone he works
with – clients and colleagues alike. Meet with him and you will appreciate right away that he is
perceptive and committed to ensuring clients seize opportunities to their benefit.
Since joining the partnership in 2016, he has made an excellent place to work even
more so through his leadership and positive, capable approach to professional and inter-personal
situations. He is a leader and dedicated people-first professional.
With seemingly no limits to his energy, Shawn plays ultimate throughout the summer, hockey in the
winter and runs and cycles in any season. He has biked the Cabot Trail three times and looks
forward to more trips in the future.
For the past eight years, Shawn has participated in the Ottawa City Chase (an urban Amazing
Race), consistently placing in the top ten each year and, in 2012, competing in the National City
Chase. He has volunteered for the past 15 years at the Annual CA Volunteer Income Tax
Preparation Program for low-income members of our community.
