We look forward to working with Kim to ensure a healthy, happy, productive, and well-functioning workplace for all. Welcome to our team, Kim!
Rewarding our Staff
To recognize our collective hard work, we took the whole firm out for an afternoon of golf, grub, and good ‘ol fashioned fun at The Meadows Golf and Country Club on October 3rd. From novice to experts alike, it was great to see us all come together in a spirit of camaraderie and collaboration, sprinkled with a little healthy competition. Work hard. Play Hard. It’s what we do best!
Supporting our Colleagues
Many of us headed down to El Camino restaurant in the market on October 17th to celebrate their launch of App8. Our colleague, Lindsay Hage’s husband, Elias, is the founder of App8, which offers customers of sit-down restaurants the convenience of fast and secure mobile payments from their seat. In addition to El Camino, App8 is currently at Father and Sons, Al’s Diner, and all of the Clocktower locations in Ottawa.
Our first-ever soup-off and pumpkin-carving contests were a ghoully and delicious success.
With four soups entrees – lentil-lemon, corn chowder, zucchini curry, and wonton – and seven pumpkin entrees, we were well fed and well entertained. The lucky soup winner – Grandma Chaar and her little army of helpers for the lentil-lemon soup!
And best Halloween costume goes to… Coco! Denis Chainé’s little bundle of joy has graced our offices for a few days, helping to keep us smiling and on our toes!
Be Part of our Growth!
We welcome five new students to our office for the University co-op work terms. Welcome to Justin Lee, Gabrielle Killeen, Yasmin Abdi, Justin O’Malley, and Benjamin Pilon! We look forward to working with you and hope you have a great time learning and growing with us.
The Pursuit of Excellence
We are extremely proud of Janice Ling, Christopher Chan, Troy Elliott and Wilson Li, who wrote the Common Final Exam (CFE) earlier in September. The CFE is the final step towards obtaining the CPA designation.
Let’s Play Ball!
Our softball team, LK Bombers, had a great year this year, placing 2nd overall in the standings. Our team Captain – Kyle Royer managed to organize a full team each week!

In recognition of the incredible dedication and time put in by our great group of staff, Logan Katz invited everyone to participate in a fun evening of food and football. Building team spirit was the name of the game at the Redblacks Home Opener on Thursday, June 21st. The night was a huge hit and everyone had a great time watching the Home team win over the Roughriders by a score of 40-17!
Wishing the best of luck to our CFE exams writers Janice, Troy, Wilson and Chris who will be studying over the summer months. Also wishing Patrick, Chelsea and Alex luck on your exams. You can do it!
Our entire team at Logan Katz is sad to bid farewell to James ‘Struthers’ Bush who will be leaving us on July 5th. James has decided to return, with his family, to his roots in Hudson, Quebec. James has been a valuable member of our team for the past eight years. Professionally, we have seen him through the scenic route of his educational journey to obtaining his CPA designation, starting as a bookkeeper and moving onto staff accountant, to supervisor and, most recently, to manager. He has been a firm ambassador and a social icon. We thank you for your contribution to our firm, James, and we wish you all the best in your future.
