Sharing our Knowledge

On October 3rd, David Logan presented our financial forecasting workshop at Lead to Win’s Transnational Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Indian Women Entrepreneurs.

Lead To Win is a community comprised of individuals and organizations that come together to support students in post-secondary institutions and community entrepreneurs launch and grow their ventures and deliver community-level outcomes not achievable on their own. Each venture is expected to generate annual revenue of $1 million within three years.

Lead To Win aims to assist businesses with high-growth potential, not all businesses. If your intent is to grow a business that can generate $1 million revenue in the next three years, Lead To Win is for you.

Walking For a Cause

We did it! We walked the full 20km Walk Together route through beautiful Ottawa in support of the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation and in memory of Carmen Cinanni.

The original walk, scheduled for September 22, was cancelled due to the tornados that affected the route for the walk.  Our AMAZING team, ‘LK Walks for Carmen’, decided to do the walk ourselves on October 13th.  It was a bright and sunny day, perfect for a walk through the city.  The LK Walks for Carmen team started off at the Accora Centre near Bayshore and continued along the parkway and through downtown, until the finish line at The Maplesoft Centre on Alta Vista.  We were exhausted, exhilarated and so very proud!

Thank you to our amazing staff and our generous sponsors. We are still receiving donations and we are thrilled to announce we have raised over $7,579!  Together, we make a difference!

Fighting for a Cause

Logan Katz attended the Fight for the Cure at the Hilton Lac Leamy on October 13th.  Proceeds from Fight for the Cure go towards the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation. The Foundation is committed to changing the lives of our friends and family members facing cancer. The Foundation is improving cancer care in Eastern Ontario through Cancer Coaching, local research and clinical trials – working with families to ensure they have access to the best personalized care possible, and to empower them to become more active participants in their cancer experience.

Founded in 2008, Fight for the Cure (FFTC) is Ottawa’s only white-collar boxing gala, where competitors trade in the comfort of their 3-piece suits in exchange for 16 oz mitts, trunks and headgear. FFTC has seen competitors from all corners of the professional world – from lawyers to financial savants; from sales/marketing gurus to politicians.

Eating for a Cause

At Le Gala des Grands Chefs at the Hilton Lac Leamy , we truly ate our hearts out with the amazing dishes created by the famous local chefs and we gave with our hearts too as this event raised much needed funds for the Canadian Cancer Society.  The Gala des Grands Chefs is a gourmet experience worthy of the finest tables to fight against all cancers. Thanks to the commitment of business people, top chefs and their teams, the event combines gastronomy with professional networking.

It is the ideal occasion to get involved in our community, show the values dear to our business and develop new relations or consolidate professional contacts.

Building a Better World

As a SheEO Activator, we are ALL IN to support, finance, and celebrate women innovators on their own terms! Together, we are bringing out the best in women through #RadicalGenoristy.

SheEO pushes the reset button on how to support women on their own terms. The model brings together 500 women (‘activators’) in each year’s cohort, who contribute $1,100 each as an Act of Radical Generosity. The money is pooled together and loaned out at zero percent interest to five women-led Ventures selected by the Activators. All Ventures are revenue generating with export potential and are creating a better world through their business model or their product or service. The loans are paid back over five years and then loaned out again, creating a perpetual fund which will be passed on to our daughters, nieces, and granddaughters.  Find out more at:

Celebrating our Friends

We were thrilled to celebrate with Tammy Giuliani of Stella Luna Gelato Café, who was honoured on October 23rd at the annual BMO Celebrating Women event for her remarkable contribution to business and the community in the Expansion and Growth in Small Business category. Congratulations Tammy! This calls for a double scoop of gelato!

Walk Together – One Day. One Journey. Thousands of Lives Changed.

The ‘LK Walks for Carmen’ team raised over $7,300 for the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation in memory of our dear colleague Carmen Cinanni who passed away this summer from cancer. We thank everyone who donated to this cause, which is so close to our hearts! Although the walk itself was cancelled due to the aftermath of tornadoes, we are so proud to be a part of this incredible community of giving!

Ride to Defeat Diabetes

Logan Katz is proud, again this year,, to have had 3 teams participate in the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation’s Revolution Ride to Defeat Diabetes held at the Marion Dewar Plaza (Ottawa City Hall) on September 13th. Our three LK Teams raised over $6,400 by participating in this fast paced Fundraiser! Thank you to everyone who participated, raised funds and donated their money to such a great cause.

Office Tour

LK hosted an office tour for 3rd year University accounting students on September 13th. It was great to meet so many young talented people. Our future is bright!

JUNE 2018

Trevor Kennedy represented Logan Katz at Invest Ottawa’s Accelerate OTT 2018 – an event that brought together the city of Ottawa’s innovators, creators, and inventors. An exciting and inspiring day for all involved!

On June 7th Logan Katz was thrilled to participate in the Take a Swing at Cancer Golf Tournament put on by the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation. Our expert golfers Kyle, Robert, Cole and Matt, of the LK team Weapons of Grass Destruction, did a great job representing our firm.

JUNE 2018

We had another successful Laughter and Konversation event on Wednesday, June 20th, 2018. Over food, wine and Konversation, a great group of business women got to learn a little more about one another. The evening featured Candace Sutcliffe of C.A. Paradis/The Chef’s Paradise, who took the group on a tour through a chef’s paradise. Lauren Hayes-Van den Weghe from the Vine Agency also joined to help complement the tour with a select offering of fine wines.

On September 13th, we hosted a Women’s Business Network lunch and learn session on the ‘ABCs of HST’, presented by Anjali Dilawri. The session provided participants with a broad overview of HST-related topics, including useful tips and common traps.
